Appreciate... Don't Fret...

Often times we think that the grass is (or will be) greener on the other side. Sometimes we think if we had more of this or that, then life would be better and you would feel happier. In the process of longing for other things, you lose the sense of self and appreciation of all that you already have when you look at it and talk about how it's just not enough or even what you want. There is a difference between wanting to improve yourself and wanting more of something just to make you "feel" better or happier when that thing may not be what will achieve that happiness. Appreciate the simple things and see the joy multiply.

The moment you start taking stock and counting your blessings, or the good things in your life, one by one--actually writing them down--you will see that you have things to be thankful for and need to always appreciate. Never take for granted what you already have, as it may slip away before you know it. Don't even fret about what is missing if it overshadows your appreciation of what is already in front of you. Remember, a grateful attitude goes a long way. Life is too precious to be spent worrying about what you don't have or are yet to achieve.

Appreciate the good things you have today. Appreciate the experiences that you have already been through because they have helped shape you into who you are today. Take the good and don't focus on the bad that came out of it. Focus on the positive lessons that you learned from every experience. Work towards what you desire, but don't let that consume your life that you stop appreciating what God has already blessed you with. If you need to make changes to reach the next level or move into another season of your life, use wisdom, not emotions to make good decisions so that you don't fall short.

In everything you do, seek God first: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33) Appreciate God... who He is and who He created you to be. Never stop showing your appreciation--even for life itself. Always appreciate the people you love, family and friends... they that love and appreciate you will always be there for you!
