Milestone! Welcome 2019!

Everyday, there’s something to be grateful for. During a storm, brokenness, tribulations, etc., somehow, we can always find something to be thankful for. Today marks the beginning of a significant milestone that some get to and pass, but some don’t. My mother died at 32 so she never got to reach this milestone. I’m sure you have people in your life that may not have reached certain milestones you thought they would make—so you understand. You are still here! I am still here!

Nonetheless, with all the sadness that could surround this day, I choose to be joyful! It’s not a sad day! It’s a day that I look back over my life and remember so many things I wish I had done differently. Yet, at the same time, I’m so grateful I went through it all because it has influenced who I am today. How I can be a blessing and encouragement to others which brings me joy. Do I wish I could turn back the clock? Who doesn’t feel that way occasionally? Even so, I am thankful that I’m not able to turn back the clock. LOL.

We owe it to ourselves to learn lessons from what life throws at us, our difficult experiences, the choices we make and the missed opportunities we could have had if we were in a different place. We all know that you can’t wallow in regret—it’s simply demoralizing. If you wallow, you don’t get to be joyful which brings happiness. No life is perfect or was ever meant to be perfect. Life is to be cherished and enjoyed—the good and the challenging. God knows we’re not perfect. He gave us freewill so that we could make choices. Granted, sometimes we make foolish choices, thank God for His grace, strength and mercy that help us along the way.

I never would have made it to this milestone without Jesus keeping me sane when I made bad decisions. I am grateful I get to celebrate this milestone. This is ME—just as I am. 2019 has now officially begun in my world! Let’s celebrate!!! I'm celebrating ALL YEAR! New goals... new dreams!!!
