Challenges inspire me. I’m inspired to do my part to help you and others believe again. I’m so excited!!! Do you remember what you desired as a child? PAUSE and THINK… Where you are today, are you happy? Are you content? Are you living or just existing—going through each day and hoping it’s the last? Or going through each day and grateful you got to live another day? You know your story… how far you’ve come… the challenges you have overcome… and the challenges you are facing even today… Whatever your situation… are you willing to believe again in that dream that brought you so much joy? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to make it a reality in your life? No limits. Don’t limit yourself with fear of failure or the unknown. Try it out! Believe that you can… and go for it!
Yesterday I experienced a local middle school math classroom as a volunteer—my first ever. [Why is it my first… Story for another day :). You can email and ask me.] Anyway, this was a challenging class in terms of how the students behaved. Nothing like I ever experienced when I was in school at their age. As I stood there while the teacher tried to teach those willing to listen, and I attempted to help maintain order, I was quite discouraged. You see, I always believe the best in people and only want the best for them. But who determines what’s best for them? I was discouraged because I believe and know that education is a privilege--which is unfortunate because not everyone has that opportunity. Not every child has the option/opportunity to go to school all over the world. Life can be hard, I get that! Education is worth paying attention in class because when you’re educated, can think for yourself, to better yourself, no one can ever take what you learn from you. To be honest, I felt like giving up and not going back to that class. But my heart grieved for those children. I remembered that I get to make a difference in their lives if I just believe again and help them believe in the impossible. So, I’m going back as often as I am able, and will not give up on them.
Some say math is impossible, fortunately for me, I love math so I am always up for the challenge. Remember how you felt about algebra in middle school? Good or bad... you made it through! LOL. Anyway, if you can give anything, like in this case, education a chance, you will be amazed what you will learn, especially about yourself. Whatever your challenge is, don’t give up. For those middle schoolers, it’s not just math that’s a challenge, and I get that. Life can be hard, but it doesn’t have to suck if you are willing to believe again.
Believe again and be an encouragement to someone. I leave you with a verse that encourages me: Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
