To be loved unconditionally, unreservedly, without measure is the longing of so many hearts, including mine. Too often you have a vision of what it means to be loved or who can love you (type of person or people) . Today I was reminded that what truly matters is not what they look like on the outside but who they are on the inside. Their true character and heart. In this day and age, all you ever want is to be loved, cared for, understood and appreciated among other things as you journey through life and encounter different mountains, valleys, etc. People to celebrate and cry with. People to encourage you, and that you can encourage as well. To be loved is not just about receiving love, but being given the opportunity to reciprocate the love as well.
The *song goes: “Who will love me for me…” How many times or have you ever asked that question? Or know someone who is asking that question even in this season? Who will love you just as you are and will walk the journey with you to bring out the best you? Not those who will just sit on the sideline, when it matters most, and wish you all the best. They watch to see if you will make it… LOL… Life is something else!
To be loved where you are free to be you with all the good and not so great stuff in your life. To be loved where there’s no fear of judgement or rejection. A lot of times unconsciously I’ve desired to be loved by people who look like me on the outside, or only believe what I believe or live the way I live. Some of them are great confidants… But those who have hearts like mine, even though they don’t look like me on the outside, have been some of the best and most authentic confidants I’ve had.
Have you been limiting yourself? Imagine if you didn’t limit yourself and other people didn’t limit themselves either… and those who have hearts like ours, but don’t look like us on the outside… what would that be like? Choose who you want to be around you. But remember, love doesn’t always come the way you expect it. To be loved by hearts that love you for you, no matter what they look like on the outside, will help you reach greater heights.
To be loved… is also to love others unconditionally, unreservedly, without measure or any BLINDERS or LIMITATIONS on who to love :). That's the love I've come to know from Jesus...
*Song Lyrics: "He cries in the corner where nobody sees He's the kid with the story no one would believe He prays every night, Dear God won't you please Could you send someone here who will love me? Who will love me for me Not for what I have done or what I will become Who will love me for me Cause nobody has shown me what love What love really means Her office is shrinking a little each day She's the woman whose husband has run away She'll go to the gym after working today Maybe if she was thinner Then he would've stayed And she say Who will love me for me? Not for what I have done or what I will become Who will love me for me? Cause nobody has shown me what love, what love really means He's waiting to die as he sits all alone He's a man in a cell who regrets what he's done He utters a cry from the depths of his soul Oh Lord, forgive me, I want to go home Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside And it said I know you've murdered and I know you've lied I have watched you suffer all of your life And now that you'll listen, I'll tell you that I... I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew"
