Dig Deeper!!!


Source vs Symptoms! Whenever somethings happens: there's an issue or situation that needs to be resolved, what do you focus on? The symptoms or do you dig deeper to find the heart of the issue or situation or problem--and get to the source? Your issue may be stress, failure, frustration, lack, debt, etc... it has a source that can be identified and addressed! Dig deeper!

Many times you address the symptoms and the issue always seems to come back around and you wonder why! Maybe you did not dig deeper to settle or tackle the heart of the matter--the source! Or you were afraid or just not ready to truly deal with it. When dealing with an issue, you need to recognize the symptoms and then clearly identify the source. The source of an an issue may be easily addressed or it may be complex that it needs time to be tackled--so dig deeper and identify or find it. You will be glad you did. Once you separate in your mind (and sometimes physically too) what the the symptoms are and what the real issue is along with the source, then you need the tenacity and faith to deal with it head on--hopefully, resolve it once and for all! Addressing it may take a call, conversation, or email/letter and resolving it over a period of time like hours, days, months or years. Keep at it because the source needs to be dealt with. As long as you are addressing and dealing with the source (not just the symptoms) of an issue or challenge, you are a step ahead--closer to your victory!

In Matthew 17:14-21, Jesus healed the demon possessed son: "And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour." (verse 18). Jesus rebuked the devil which was the source of the outbursts (people thought the son was moonstruck--because the greatest outbursts occurred at the full and half moon). When the disciples asked why they could not heal this young man, Jesus talked about their unbelief: "So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” (verse 20-21) Jesus added that this kind comes by prayer and fasting.

To be honest... You are probably better off when you truly need to inquire of God to reveal the source of an issue and fast to hear from Him on how to address it. You only have the strength and power that comes from Jesus to address an issue. On your own you may only scratch the surface, never really dig deeper and only tackle the symptoms. Today, dig deeper with Jesus. Listen and obey when He brings things to light. Be fearless in your quest to dig deeper!
