Victory!

When you wake up, you don't usually plan your day to encounter defeat in everything you do--at least I hope you don't. You wake up with a sense of hope or hopelessness depending on the season you are in. When you choose hope no matter what season you are in, your goal is to have victory in every encounter of the day. Victory is defined as "an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition." ALSO as "A success in a struggle against difficulties or an obstacle" ALSO, "Victory is a win, such as beating an opponent or achieving success in something." So, having victory requires your involvement (actions) and not just standing by when things happen in your life.

Every day is a battle for your soul. Thankfully, victory was already won at Calvary. "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57) Each day you have the choice to walk in and expect victory or stand by and let life pass you by as you are defeated by everything that comes your way. "Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8 AMP) So, the devil is active on a mission to get victory over your life and he will do whatever it takes to take you downhill. BUT!!! You have the victory already, even before you get into battle. So, you need to be alert. Call upon God in everything, trust and believe that victory is yours. After all, you are more than a conqueror: "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]." (Romans 8:37 AMP)

Whatever battle... big or small, you already have the victory--you just need to do your part. It does start with the simple things like victory over not having enough time to do everything you need to do in a day or week--time management is your key to victory. Also, saying no to this, and yes to that! You can have victory over being easily angered by being more patient and calm when things happen that would stir up the angry response within you. Victory over laziness--stop living in regret wishing you had done this or that. Get up and start moving, or doing something, plan ahead, be committed and follow through. The rest will follow...

It's not always easy... I get that. But we have to be willing to try and make the effort... remember, victory is "an act" so you need to put forth action. Sometimes you need to reach out for help from other people--maybe only for their advice/guidance, especially if they have gone through and won the victory in the same thing you are going through. "For by wise guidance you can wage your war,And in an abundance of [wise] counselors there is victory and safety." (Proverbs 24:6 AMP). Some battles are better fought and won with others than all on your own. Take each battle as it comes and walk in victory!

REMEMBER:

"For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]."

(1 John 5:4 AMP)
