Worry-Free

In a world full of anxious people, so much uncertainty and even sometimes 'unreasonable' expectations, it's very easy to be flustered all the time--or a lot of times. You often worry about one thing or another: Finances, food, getting a job, passing an exam, having a family, retirement, getting married, starting a business, finding a place to live, finding people you can trust (aka FRIENDS), etc. The list is endless about what you can worry about, sometimes all at the same time depending on what season in life you are in. Use your imagination wisely!

Imagine if you wake up everyday being WORRY-FREE. Without a care in the world. Not because you don't care about anything, but because you train your heart, mind, soul and spirit to focus on what you have--the positive aspect and things. You have a faith, belief, confidence and full assurance that everything will work out just as it is supposed to at the appointed time. Worrying doesn't change or help the issue you are dealing with--if anything, worry exacerbates it and probably makes things worse. So, work at being WORRY-FREE!

Remember what is means to worry. Here are a few definitions of WORRY worth sharing: "give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles." (verb) and "a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems." (noun) Merriam-Webster defines worry as "1a: mental distress or agitation resulting from concern usually for something impending or anticipated; anxiety 1b: an instance or occurrence of such distress or agitation. 2: a cause of worry: trouble, difficulty." You get the gist... worrying is not healthy or helpful at all. You are the expert of yourself who knows how or what you worry about. The idea with the definitions is just to remind you what worrying is and does. You need to aspire to live in a WORRY-FREE state of mind and attitude.

I encourage you to try out a week--or even just a day--of being WORRY-FREE and see the results: emotionally, mentally and physically. Practice one day at a time and choose not to worry from the minute you wake up to start your day; and also when you go to bed--don't worry about what has already happened today or what is going to happen tomorrow. Whatever you can affect or influence your situation/issue, that you should do. What you are not able to do at that time, let go and be WORRY-FREE!

Some encouragement and reminders from the Word of God that help me focus on being WORRY-FREE... and I hope will help you:

"Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God." (Philippians 4:6)

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?“ Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Matthew 6:25-34)

Go forth and be WORRY-FREE today and always!
