In life, it is important to have a pillar of strength (or many pillars for that matter). One definition states that this is: "a person who can be relied upon to give a great deal of support and comfort to others." I believe that a pillar of strength stands with you in times of trouble and joy. We mostly call upon our pillar(s) of strength in times of trouble because we can't make it on our own. Unfortunately, when things are going well, sometimes we forget we even have a pillar(s) of strength. Let us remember to always be thankful for our pillar(s) of strength.
Today I am reminded that my pillar of strength is alive and well, always looking out for me, watching over me as I journey through life. Honestly, if it wasn't for my pillar of strength encouraging, teaching and reminding me that I am able to overcome every obstacle that has come my way to date, I wouldn't be who I am today, or standing sanely in life. The strength that I have had to tackle different challenges is not my own. In addition, my pillar of strength has brought other people to help guide me along the way.
As you go through life, how do you cope when you are faced with challenges? Who do you call upon and hold on to? Where do you get your strength, motivation, determination and courage to keep moving forward and not being stuck? Do you have a pillar of strength? My pillar of strength is Jesus Christ--the author and perfecter of my faith and life (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus has never let me down and He often brings people in different seasons to help hold my hand when I face challenges and I tackle them head on! I am very grateful for my pillar of strength. May you find or identify your pillar(s) of strength and never walk or stand alone.
