Words...

As you go about each day, reflect on what the Word of God says: "Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily." (James 1:19) Listening is the first priority... then speaking... because words that you utter will always have an impact.

You determine whether that's a positive or negative impact by what you say and how you say it. They say, 'think before you speak' and that takes diligent practice and determination, because when emotions are high or raging, that's not an easy thing to do. Once the words are out there in the atmosphere, you can't easily retract them. Be intentional and thoughtful about the words that you speak--they will impact someone!

For your personal growth... here are a few gentle reminders of the AWESOMENESS of God and the WORDS He has spoken and continues to speak today. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105) God's Word in the Bible keeps me going each day. When I rejoice, His Word says: "I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever." (Psalm 86:12) When I cry: "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance." (Psalm 42:5) When I am in need, Jesus says: "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7) When I am searching for answers, Jesus says: "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." (Luke 11:19)

God's words never return to Him void but will always accomplish His purpose on the earth--in your life. Ours is to trust, obey and believe His words no matter the circumstances or state of our minds--that's FAITH. As you can tell, WORDS MATTER and have an impact on your life and everyone else. The weight of words also depends on who says them--and how they are received. So, let your WORDS be filled with LOVE and GRACE in order to be kind... always!
